CHERRY HILL, NJ - MAY 25: Dr. Ravi D. Goel poses for a photograph in his Cherry Hill, New Jersey office May 25, 2007. The U.S. government is going to cut payments to doctors by 10 percent next year and 40 percent over the next 9 years. That will mean that fewer doctors will be able to take new Medicare patients into their practices at a time when the number of people retiring and enrolling inn. Medicare is rising sharply with the Baby Boom generation. This is the same problem that was temporarily averted last year by Congress. But instead of a 5 percent cut in payments, next year's is a 10 percent cut. So the stakes are higher this year. (Photo by William Thomas Cain)
